If I had known that I would end up spending so much of my life in Korea, I would have made more
of an effort to learn the language! In fact, I've never planned to be in this nutty place for long...It's funny
how things work out!
In Seoul, I worked for an American University (UCR) which maintains a satallite campus here in partnership
with the local government. It was refreshing and rewarding to work for a non-profit center. I worked there from April 2003
Until February 2006. For that time continued to enjoy living in this vast city of 14 million,
going to the gym, meeting friends for dong dong ju, and having dinner parties on weekends.

In March, 2006, I began working at Hongik University in Seoul, a top-notch school
with a huge design and fine arts concentration. Moving to Hongik meant a big pay-cut, but brought a 12 hour
weeks and over five months of paid vacagtion a year! For me, it was a lifestyle change: a new neighborhood, and more time
to relax and travel. Still, I hike and bike at every chance, and hibernate most of the Winter away.
I am getting rather restless. Lately been wondering why I still
haven't been south of the Sahara in Africa. Or to Italy. Or taken that great train ride across Russia...
