Singapore and Malaysia

Sentosa, Singapore

Everything about Singapore is over the top! Like Sentosa, this theme-park island constituting the southernmost point of continental Asia. It's clean, it's rich, it's westernized and it's everything its neighboors are not. This was hard to adjust to after arriving from Java on a budget Air Pakistan flight in late 1997. Sleeping in the airport was the most comfortable night I'd spent in weeks!
