Morning near Ghasa

Nepal is probably the most awesome place on Earth. The landscape is at times humbling and terrifying and at other times moving in its quiet beauty. The people are warm and generous and the towns and cities are intriguing medieval labyrinths. I celebrated Buddhist New Years in Bhaktapur and explored the Kathmandu Valley in April 1998. Later, I hiked through the Annapurna mountain range for my first Himalayan trek. You must walk through these mountains at least once in your life!
